Thomas Westra
Pastor
Pastor Tom Westra received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern College, in Watertown, WI, and his master's from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, WI. He has been serving Beautiful Savior since his Seminary graduation in 1985.
He and his wife Carol have three grown children: Matthew, married to Rachel, is a pastor in Morristown, TN; Mark, married to Nicole, is a pastor in Rochester, NY; and Emily is a teacher in Doral, FL. He and Carol have three grandchildren.
Alex married his wife Carrie in 2009. Carrie serves as a teacher in Beautiful Savior’s school ministry. They look forward to meeting you!
Alex Groth
Pastor
Serving as a pastor was something Alex considered from childhood. After four years at Luther Preparatory School, he continued his studies at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. His coursework there included becoming proficient in Greek, Hebrew, German, History, Science, and other areas. Then came the next four years of study at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, from which he received his Master in Divinity. There he took courses devoted to the study of Scripture in the original languages.
Upon graduation from the Seminary in 2011, Alex has been serving at Beautiful Savior. He also serves as the coordinator for the Commission on Youth and Family for the WELS Michigan District.
